I use a LOT of "Christmas" "Holiday" "Whatever" string and rope lighting. I've tried dozens of types and brands. Generally I'm not a huge fan of the battery operated -- they're SUPER HANDY, but... I've had too many die over the summer for no reason -- I put them in the Christmas box working and they come back out not working, and no, I have not left the batteries in them. Overall I LOATHE the HDMI ones, if it's going into a plug, then I want a PLUG... I don't want to bother with the stupid intermediary HDMI converter, and to me, there's NO WAY it has the same power as one plugged directly into the outlet.All that blah, blah, blah being said -- I like these a lot. (Don't know if they'll LAST, but I like them.)What I like most (compared to MANY overseas-made brands), these have VERY GOOD lighting selections (the flashing, twinkling, etc.)Many of them have 5 or 6 AWFUL, garish, dumb settings that no one would ever use and then maybe 2 that are useful.This one has quite a few that are good and one that I really like a lot... in the "twinkle" range versus the others with just a lot of different awful flashing.I'm a little confused about the timer settings, but admittedly, I didn't read the instructions. I'm guessing it's X number of hours from when it is turned on. IDK... but they come on every night, so the time does "work"... I just don't know HOW it works, but NBD.So there ya go. Hope they last.
