Addendum a week later, I’ll add another star cause you really have to wait till you get several days of good sun then these last about 4 to 6 hours and are very bright, because the first night they were on for 12hrsI thought that would be the case every night. We have not had many sunny days but on the few we’ve had like I said they did last the 4-6 hours except for one that is in full sun only stays on for no more than 10 min so I have ordered a 3.7volt battery with higher mah and charger and will see if that is the problem. Unless you can afford the very e pensive solar lights…I cannot..,.this is the most you can expect and will most likely only last more than a couple years at best from my experience. So I am mildly happier with this purchase but am not happy with poor misleading instructions and battery type and how to access them.First off, per the description for these this is the type battery they take“ AA Ni-MH”, not so, they take a 3,7v expensive battery to replace…15$ for 2 of the cheapest ones so do the math if all 8 need, cost more than the lights. I had to take one apart because the first night, they all lit up beautifully for 12 hours we had no sun that day and downhill from there, full sun all day second day, lights lasted maybe 4 hours. So I took the one I’d not screwed on yet apart to see if maybe a battery problem as I had some of the aa ones....and btw per the enclosed directions the top swivels off is not true either, you have to unscrew them from the post, take out all 8 screws to get to the battery and that is how I saw it is not the said battery but the large 3.7v. When I move the not yet attached solar light, the light flickers off and on so obviously something is wrong with it and I’m hoping they all are not like that tho at least they are screwed on now. So I’m pretty unhappy that I put holes into my new vinyl expensive railing posts and getting maybe 4 hours at best lighting. I’m just hoping I’ll get more light on another night to come and not less or none. They are bright however, pretty cheaply made which I expected for the price but look nice at least. The directions very subpar and obvious not true. Be careful when you put the screws in that you stop from screwing all the way in because if you do it’ll go right thru the holes…should have larger head screws…and will only attach the under plate maybe. I’m not an expert at these things so of course I screwed all the way in and stripped the screw trying to get back out to redo. All in all this was a pretty unsatisfactory purchase for me and think I’d Amazon would do better. Many bad reviews which I should have listened to and not purchased. So hope you all listen to mine.
